Catholic Deacon, Speaker, Author, Podcaster

Fr. Dave was in Arizona with his family, and I was in my office in Steubenville. We recorded this on Sunday evening, but it wasn’t too rambly for a night show (I hope).

Yes, I am excited about Baker Mayfield being the quarterback for the Buccaneers. I’ve always liked that guy, and I don’t think he got a fair shake with the Browns. Being in somewhat Browns country (it is more Steelers around here, but there is a fair amount of Browns fans) I got to follow him a bit when he was on that team. Seemed like a class act. And great commercials! So I’m hoping this is a great season for him.

In this episode, Fr. Dave claims that none of you care about soccer updates. Please prove him wrong by sending an email to hope@franciscan.edu and say you at least somewhat care about soccer.

The biggest block of this episode is dedicated to Our Blessed Mother. We don’t think we’ve talked about her much on the show, and with the feast of the Assumption yesterday and the celebration of her Queenship next Tuesday, we thought it would be a good time. I always appreciate Fr. Dave’s balanced approach, and I think he gives some great insights. I was happy to share how praying with Mary has blessed my life in some dramatic ways.

I pray you are blessed by this episode!

  1. looks like every one is enjoying an “at home” and relaxed visit; I like baseball better than football and we loved having Messi at the Philadelphia game
