Apparently, Yogi Berra actually tried to sue Hanna Barbara because he thought that “Yogi Bear” was a mockery of himself. Personally, I think it would be cool to have a cartoon character named after me! Honestly, more people know of Yogi Bear than Yogi Berra. Except for Fr. Dave, who watched a documentary on him.
We spend a good bit of time in this episode talking about the Holy Land and what the Church teaches about the Jewish faith. Let’s all continue to pray for peace there.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Fr. Dave and Dcn. Bob talk about the Buccaneer’s “Creamsicle” jerseys, the MLB playoffs, Yogi Bear, the violence in Israel, what the Church teaches about our Jewish brothers and sisters, trusting in the Holy Spirit, and “fixed dispositions” that keep us from doing God’s will.
This weekend I’ll be in Tampa with my girls to root on the Lightning and the Buccaneers. It is rare they play on the same weekend, but this season it happens twice! It was also fun to go to the Cavalier’s pre-season game on Monday with my son, Bobby. They played a team from Israel (this was scheduled months ago), so obviously it took on deeper significance with everything going on. And yes, they won!
My apologies for the video. My iPhone died at the end of the episode, but you can still see most of it. I’ll try to keep the battery charged in the future.
